I’ve been meaning to do another blog post for ages now, but can never think of anything to write it on, so this one is just a general, state of life post.

After finishing work yesterday, I loaded up the car with the kids, bags, sleeping bags and kids bikes and headed over to a friends house, near Bethesda. The sun was shining, the music blaring and we headed onto the A55, along with all the rest of the holiday traffic. It felt really nice, like we were going on a little holiday. Its times like this when I love loving in North Wales. There wasn’t even any road works on the A55 and the traffic wasn’t too bad.

I reached my destination in less than half an hour and the kids were promptly playin outside on their bikes with my friends children while we chilled in the garden with wine and cider (not mixed!) admirin the scenery.

For me,I think (hope) that this weekend will mark the start of the summer, and after a couple of really shit years going through a separation and then divorce, life is really good at the moment. I’ve met a load of new, great friends and I’m really looking forward to this summer. I plan on going to loads of parties, camping n stuff with the kids and to basically make the most of it. Lets just hope the weather holds up

After my downfall on the master cleanse yesterday, I thought stuff it, and have continued all day today.

I weighed myself first thing this morning and I weighed 140lbs. Virtually no weight loss for 10 days of eating nothing, only drinking lemonade. I know the weight is going to come straight back on again.

Today, I’ve still been craving protein and also sugary things, due to the fact that I’ve ben living off the lemonade for the last 10 days which has a high sugar content due to the maple syrup.I’ve now developed a very sweet tooth, which I didn’t really have before.

I sat and watched “super skinny me - the race to size zero”  on the tele tonight. Funnily enough, one of them had done the master cleanse and lost 7 lbs in 1 week.

The first time I did the fast, I lost a lot of weight in the 10 days, but subsequent fasting haven’t hd the same results. I think the body is amazingly adaptive and I’m just training mine to retain fat more as it is kinda starting to know what to expect. I think, now, for weightloss, the fast just isn’t going to cut it any more. I’m going to have a few days break and then I’m going to follow my own eating plan base on my own research.

Have you ever been charged £35 by your bank for going a couple of pound overdrawn for a day or two. I recently added up all my bank charges over the last 6 years and in total, it comes to nearly £2000. Most of these charges are for going less than £5 overdrawn. If they’re not legal, people stand a good chance of reclaiming their bank charges for the last 6 years!.

Everything was going ok today. I got up, went to work, drank 3 litres of lemonade throughout the day, didn’t drink the SWF, just couldn’t bear it anymore but did everything else just as I should. Got home, took dog for a walk and then got on the scales and was just just devestated. 142lbs. 142LBS How the fuck did that happen. How can someone put on 5 lbs in weight when all they’ve had is 3 litres of lemonade. Given that a litre weighs 1 kg which is about 2 1/2 lbs. I had only ingested 7 1/2 lbs all day in fluid and what, has my body retained 5 lbs of that.

I had just had enough. I started making some homemade vegetable and quorn stew for the kids dinner tomorrow and I was starving. I started picking at a few pieces of raw carrot and then decided that when it was cooked, I was going to have a bowl. Fuck the cleanse, I felt like a woman on the edge, about to go crazy and go to the shop and get a bottle of wine and a tub of Ben n Jerry’s Ice Cream and eat the whole fuckin lot!!

I decided that I couldn’t wait for the stew to cook, it was just taking too long, so I had a piece of toast with half a tin of beans. I could literally feel my body crying out for protein. I never have meat in the house so I ended up getting a small piece of cheese to dip in my beans. Bloody lovely. Never has beans on toast tasted so good.

I later went to my auntie’s to help them set up a laptop where I had a can of lager and then came home later. The stew was ready and I had a big bowl. I’m now feeling fat again, but satisfied.

Weight at 7pm: 142lbs!!

What the fuck!!!!!

I can’t believe it’s day 9 already.
I’m now back into my normal routine and doing the whole thing, ie SWF in the morning, lemodade, water and peppermint tea thoughout the day, though I’m still on reduced lemonade and the laxatee in the evening.

Today has been quite hard. I’ve really struggled with the SWF and don’t think I can go on doing it. It really surprises me how difficult its been, drinking it today, cause normally, it’s disgusting, but I can still drink it down quite quick, even without gagging!!

I’m also finding movement quite difficult, things like going up the stairs make my thighs ache. I feel good in myself though. It’s a very clean feeling, hard to describe, as well as clear headed. My head feels more awake but my body doesn’t.

I went to the gym this evening and managed to an hour. I could have gone longer but I had other things to do. It was a little bit more difficult than usual but I was surprised it wasn’t more so, given I’ve gone 9 days without fats or protein and have been surviving on less than 500 calories/day.I know my metabolic rate has dropped because I’m freezing cold all the time. I also know that I’m burning fat, mainly at night when I’m not constantly drinking the lemonade due to the unmistakable taste of ketosis. Minging. The Master Cleanse book says this is due to your body getting rid of toxins. I know from doing the Atkins diet a couple of time that this is ketones. Yes, ketones are toxins in the body, but these aren’t stored in my fat deposits, these are produced by my body burning primarily fat as fuel due to the lack of other fuel sources. This is exactly what I want. I think the book is misleading in some of it’s comments and just plain wrong in others, although the overall concept of cleansing is good and having experience it first hand on now 3 occasions, I know I always feel better for.

Not long to go now, I’m gonna carry on till day 12 or 13 depending on how I’m feeling.

Today has not gone as planned at all. I didn’t bother with the flush again as I decided on Friday evening to go a couple of days without doing it. I didn’t make up my lemonade until about 12 and then had 1 pint of the lemonade. I then went all day without having any. At tea time, I started cutting up some fresh pineapple for the kids and there was no way I could resist a couple of fresh pineapple chunks. I’m starting again though as I’m sure that fresh pineapple doesn’t exactly contain many toxins!! The pineapple was my only downfall, and the fact that I haven’t had enough lemonade or water. I weighed myself at about 6pm and I’m absolutely thrilled to weigh 136lbs. That’s a loss of 4 lbs since yesterday!!!!

I had another couple of pints of lemonade in the evening as well as  few cups of peppermint tea and a cup of laxatee.

At last, the weight is shifting.

After not losing any weight for the last few days, I read the bulletin boards to read other people’s experiences with weight loss and the master cleanse.There was loads of discussion on curezone.com/forums. From the discussions on here, I decided to drop the flush over the weekend and reduce the amount of maple syrup.

The last few days, I’ve boon making the concentrate every morning by juicing 4 to 6 lemons to get about 250 ml lemon juice, mixing this with 250ml Meridian Organic Maple Syrup which is US grade B and half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Throughout the day, this is mixed with water at approximately 1 part concentrate to 5 parts water. It makes about 3 to 3.5 litres of lemonade. Today, I’ve reduced the amount of maple syrup to about 175ml.

I weighted myself first thing in the morning and weighted 137lbs, that’s 3 lbs less than yesterday evening. I also weighted myself at 8pm, as that’s about the same time as I’ve been weighting myself previously and I weighed 140lbs. Gutted. How is that possible. All I’ve had today is 4 pints of lemonade.  How the hell does that amount to putting on 3lbs!!! I haven’t even had the time to drink additional water or peppermint.

I measured myself as well, and I haven’t lost any inches anywhere. How is that possible? I know your metabolic rate slows down on the fast due to lack of food, but slowing down so that I can maintain my current weight on less than 500 calories/day. If my metabolism is this efficient, shopping is going to be very cheap from now on.

Todays been really easy. My muscles have stopped aching.I haven’t had any cravings. Today I’ve felt like I could stay on the cleanse indefinitely but obviously, that wouldn’t be a good idea. I did everything I should as usual, and nothing that I shouldn’t have. No exercise again today other than taking the dog for a short walk and the usual housework

Now I’m definitely getting disheartened. I’m still gonna carry on anyway, maybe I might lose more next week.

Today has been very difficult. I woke up this morning in a lot of pain with my muscles, must be delayed pain from the run. Have found it very difficult to move and its days like this that I appreciate the desk job.

I did the flush and the lemonade and the tea as I should. I started getting cravings in the evening for just about anything. Lemonade and peppermint tea just weren’t doing the job, but I still didn’t give in. Quite a way to go yet. I’m just going to have to get used to going without food. The hardest thing is making the kids dinner and not picking at stuff, which is a really bad habit at the best of times.

No exercise today. There is no way my body is up to it.

I’m feeling really disheartened.

Nothing to report today really. I did the flush this morning and have been drinking the lemonade all day. I’ve got used to the not eating, I did have a bit of a hunger pang at lunch time and no lemonade with me, so it lasted about half an hour and then just went away. I haven’t even had any cravings. A friend came round with a bottle of wine, and I wasn’t even tempted to have a glass. She’s left 3/4 bottle in the fridge. The next few days are well going to be testing my will power. I have no doubt that I will prevail!!! Maybe I should just pour it away, just in case I give into temptation, but pouring good wine away goes against everything I believe in, and although I can live off lemonade for 12 days, pouring alcoholic beverages away is just something I don’t think I could bring myself to do. Maybe I can give it away. Anyone want 3/4 bottle white wine? Can’t remember what type.

My muscles haven’t been hurting half as bad as what I thought they would after that bloody run yesterday, I’ll wait until I see what they’re like tomorrow though. Laid off all exercise today, apart from usual housework. Might give myself a couple of days rest.
